Have you ever thought that there was more to your life than working that 9 to 5? Did you ever wish that you had more time to spend with your kids? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make money on your own terms…from anywhere and at anytime? Have you ever dreamed of living a life that you didn’t need a vacation from?

One year ago, due to Corporate outsourcing, I found myself out of a job. It was hard…for over 10 years, I had been defined by my career in Hospitality Management. I dedicated over 50+ hours a week and was glued to my Blackberry 24/7 so I never really got any days off. It was all about work, work, work. Heck, if I wasn’t the one giving birth to my children, I probably would have had to miss that too! Those dreams of climbing the Corporate ladder so that you can enjoy your weekends, holidays, and go on family vacations that last for weeks was just that…a dream. I almost never got to see my family. I missed first words, first steps, school plays, basketball games… The truth is, I was tired of working so much and never seeing my children! I was tired of seeing my children grow up through photos and videos. I knew it was time for change!

Even while managing, I was always drawn to creating residual income and having my own business. Starting my own business became a true constant in my life after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki. Needless to say, my journey to my own business was on its way!

When it came to business, I have pretty much done it all. I dealt in life insurance, health & wellness, skin care… I have even tapped into my creative talents and designed jewelry, shirts, jerseys, hats and accessories to sell at local craft fairs for the holidays! My craft fair biz is always a success every season, but it certainly wasn’t income that I could retire with.

My husband has always known that he didn’t want to work for anyone else…even when I was still so set on climbing the Corporate Ladder. Well thank goodness my entrepreneurial spirit finally kicked in! My husband and I knew that we wanted to build our own business. We wanted to free ourselves from clocking in and out and living our lives based on someone else’s schedule. We wanted to cut the cord and have the freedom to work from anywhere and at anytime. We wanted to build something that we were passionate about and have fun while we were doing it. We wanted to spend more time with our kids. We both have a passion for helping others and a love for travel (we’re both military brats and have family scattered everywhere) so we came up with a way that we could do both.

You can check out what we do here.

Thank you for joining me on this journey to freedom! My biggest hope is that I can provide you at least a glimmer of insight and inspiration to get your entrepreneurial juices flowing and get you just one step closer to living your dream life too.
