Creating Buyer Personas or Buyer Avatars will help you nail down your target audience.
Today we’ll take a look Demographics for your audience.
Thinking about the person or people you are trying to target…Where do they live? How old are they? Are they male or female? Do they have kids?
By segmenting your whole audience, you are able to really get into the heart of focusing on satisfying the true needs of your true buyer.
It’s like meeting a new person and really getting to know them.
Think about your best friend or a friend that you have known for a very long time. You know EVERYTHING about this friend. Their birthday, where they live, the names of their kids, etc… You get the picture. And if I was to guess…you also engage with this friend on social media, too…am I right?
As you begin to complete your worksheet, you may start to notice that your target audience buyer avatar may start to look a lot like you. Not to worry…this is a common thing. The more you start to drill down into the details, lots of business owners/entrepreneurs find that they love to work with like-minded individuals.
I would focus on creating 1 to 3 buyer avatars that represent the different audiences you want to focus on. It may help to give each avatar a name and a personality.
Here’s an example:
Stacey is a very proud married Mompreneur mother of 3 children. She likes to hang out at the beach and support the sports and events that her children take part in. She enjoys shopping at the mall but is very loyal to certain brands. Building a life where she can leave her corporate job to work from home and spend more time with her children inspires her. Being a mom and a manager, she struggles with finding time to market her startup revenue streams that will eventually help her leave the corporate life. I could help her by offering her affordable options to assist her in marketing her business on social media. I can handle it for her 100% or I can work alongside her and teach her what she needs to know to create balance in her endeavors.
